From the beginning of history to present day people have
been journaling and keeping their memories forever fresh on paper. The benefits
of journaling are endless. Some people may choose to journal about their daily
events, some may choose to journal about their eating habits and diet. What ever you choose to write about it is one
of the best ways to truly express yourself and can be very therapeutic.
Journaling has no limitations. Your journal can be about what ever you are
feeling in that particular moment. Maybe
you had a really terrific experience at work and don't want to forget about it,
or maybe you are experiencing a rough time in your life. What do you do? Journal about it. Write it down. Make it your own. Journaling about the experience will not only
let you express yourself and deal with your emotions but it will also help you
remember how you were feeling at that particular time. Therapists have often assigned their patients
to start up journaling to try and help them understand and focus on how they
are feeling. Going through the
experience of journaling often helps unblock emotions that have been buried
deep within. The benefit of this is the
release of all sorts of pent up emotions and the final act of letting them go
and beginning to heal.
Starting up a journal can be as easy as grabbing a piece of
paper and just letting the words flow.
If you have never tried journaling before give it a try. It doesn't have to be anything fancy unless
you choose it to be. Take your journal
with you on trips and on vacations and journal about your experiences. Keep your journal close by so when you get
the urge to write you have it and are ready to share your thoughts. It isn't necessary to write pages and pages
in one day unless you want to. Your
journal is your own. One day you may
have a paragraph or two the next day you may write three pages. It all depends on how you are feeling and
what you would like to express.
It is a truly rewarding experience to journal and may even
help you find out who you really are.
Journaling can help you out in ways you never imagined if you just give
it a try. Just remember that these are
your thoughts and feelings and to just let them flow naturally. Take care of your journal and it will take
care of you.

ReplyDeleteI've kept journals my entire life. I'm able to look back at times in my life and feel as though I'm living them again. What a great post.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder. So often I forget to take the time to write things down that are important to me and then the feeling of that moment is lost.
ReplyDeleteI had once a notebook where I write almost anything. I was a sahm then and that was more than fifteen years ago.Until I met a blogger who told me to write again and this was just November of last year. And the rest was history.
ReplyDeleteI do not know where that notebook went. I have to admit I still missed it and try to refresh my memory of the things I wrote then. I may not found my old journals again, but I am glad I have discovered blogging, where I found my true self once more.
