Welcome Autumn!

I woke up this morning to find frost on my car. To say I was unhappy about this find would be a major understatement. I am not ready to drag out the winter coats, hats and mittens just yet. I still want a few short fleeting bursts of summer like weather. Is that asking to much?? After last winter I am seriously considering making a HUGE move south and leaving the great beauty of Michigan behind. Don't get me wrong I am truly surrounded by some of the best scenic views in the country BUT the winters here are agonizing. The summers are wonderful and autumn is gorgeous BUT 8-9 months of winter is getting to be a bit much. I'm just not sure if I have it in me to leave just yet or not. There really are a lot of things I would miss. For example:

I'm just not sure if I can let it go just yet. I guess I will just have to wait and see how harsh this winter is to make that decision.

As autumn rolls on in and the leaves begin to change it starts getting my gears in motion for the big busy buying season that is fast approaching. I have been knitting and sewing like a mad woman to get my shop all set for the holiday shopping buzz. I have set some pretty high goals for this year and really hope to make the best of things this season. I just had one of my busiest summers so far in my online sales so I am hoping that trend continues into the fall. I am looking to release a few new product lines in a couple of weeks to include fingerless gloves, cup cozies and much more. I am in the mind set right now that the more variety I have in my shop the happier my customers are going to be. I also believe that putting all of my eggs in one basket isn't exactly the smartest thing to do so I have also ventured into a few other venues besides Etsy this year. I now have shops at Etsy, ArtFire and 1000Markets. Of those three Etsy has been my best money maker followed by 1000Markets which is really starting to take off for me. I have yet to sell anything on ArtFire but I remain hopeful. I also promote on FaceBook, Twitter, Indie Public and CraigsList which has also proven to bring in lots of traffic and sales. I think for now all of that should keep me busy enough and with trying to create new things to stock up these shops it will be a miracle if I get any sleep for the next couple of months. I wouldn't trade any of it for the world though. I love what I do and I love creating things and seeing the joy of the people who receive my items. That in itself is what makes everything all worth while. Happy Autumn!
